Through intentional exploration, education, and empowerment, HYPE empowers girls of color with technology skills and prepares them to become future leaders in 21st century careers, cultivating a pipeline of diverse talent for the tech industry. HOPE FOR YOUTH, INC (HYPE)
Hope for Youth, Inc (HYPE) is a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, that is working to achieve equitable representation of women of color in technology careers through by addressing the problem early for girls in middle and high school. WHO WE ARE HYPE Founder and CEO Kristina Newton knows first-hand what it is like to be a woman of color in tech, and the importance of these programs for this specific demographic. Kristina earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Prairie View A&M University (an HBCU in Texas) and worked in tech for years, however lack of representation and community in tech drove her to leave the private sector and start HYPE in 2017. Since then, HYPE has been working to inspire young girls of color to join the tech industry, preparing them for successful, fulfilling careers and building a supportive community of women of color. WHY WE'RE HERE
OUR PROGRAMS
Year-long, 10-session program that builds on the HYPE Project & provides high school girls with College & Career Readiness workshops, scholarship application & college enrollment support, internship placements, public speaking experience, professional networking opportunities, & more. SUMMER CODING CAMPS Affordable & accessible 2-week in- person day camps that provide expert THE HYPE PROJECT Core tech education & leadership development program that introduces Computer Science to middle & high school girls of color in a 12-week afterschool curriculum focused on community. HYPE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY STEM instruction & incorporates Women in Tech guest speakers to exhibit female representation in tech fields. INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE Fully funded 1-week trip abroad where HYPE students teach coding workshops to children in developing countries. Students practice skills from prior HYPE programs while connecting STEM fields to passion, purpose & solving real-world problems. *Currently on hold WOMEN IN TECH ROUNDTABLES Panel-style lunch & learns hosted 3 times per year for students to gain insight into the lives of women in tech professionals at their corporate offices.

CATCH A LIFT? WHAT IS
For more than a decade, the Catch A Lift Fund (CAL), a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has lifted spirits and saved lives, providing U.S. military combat-injured veterans with an array of holistic and individualized methods to heal the whole person—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The program teaches combat-injured veterans how to foster an intentional and healthy lifestyle founded on four core pillars: nutrition, fitness, emotional wellness, and community. Spearheaded by veterans who have found success within the program, they lead fellow brothers and sisters on their unique wellness journeys as certified coaches, mentors, and leaders. Finding a personal purpose is the Catch A Lift cure for addiction, dangerous weight gain, and debilitating depression. By nurturing a commitment to forward movement and feeling better every day, veteran to veteran, they heal, find purpose and passion and begin a new mission.
